#848 – Google maps: Need a demand button for adding adress number

 Hi,

Today when you add an adress you can add an adress without a number.

I would like to have an option where i demand the user to add an adress number.

E.g. "Tornfalksgatan 1" needs to be added, not only "Tornfalksgatan"

This is so that the taxi driver can navigate to the exact location of the user.

So basically this functionality is needed. Can this be added?

Hi Muhamed,
you can use Custom fields to request any information you like and make those fields mandatory or not.
Google address auto suggest works with and without house number and that can not be influenced but if it is a problem for you then you can create mandatory Custom field and name it "Confirm House number" for example.

Hi, I cannot make it work.

I've tried the following settings and i dont get an extra field beside Pick-Up and Drop-Off fields.

  • Show on Pick up: Yes/No - assign the custom field to Pick up points.

  • Show on Drop off: Yes/No - assign the custom field to Drop off points.

  • Show on Address: Yes/No - this option will assign the Custom field to Address selection when your customer is typing an address an uses it form the auto suggest drop down.




The only field that works is "Show as Additional Information" But i dont want it to show up on step 3 of the booking. I want it as explained to show up right next to Pick-Up and Drop Off.

What do i need to do in order to set this up correctly?

Hi Muhamed,
Custom fields show on 3rd step of the booking process. There is no way to show them on first step currently as this is considered as a booking barrier especially for new customers.

Hi,

For me it is very important to get that working in first step if possible. Could i add it myself with html code or something? Is there an alternative to code by ourselves? to get api info in order to change?

Hi Muhamed,
you will not be able to add that yourself but we could add an option for each Custom field to publish on 1st step or 3rd step.
However, this development will require a separate development fee.

Hi,

Yes it would be great to get fee information for getting this work done.

I would like to add the button right next to the Pick-Up and Drop Off.

E.g.

[Pick-Up] [Custom Button]
[Drop-Off] [Custom Button]

What could be the price in order to get this done?

Hi Muhamed,
yes, we can add Custom fields next to Pick up and Drop off similar to Adult Seats and Suitcases when Display custom field is set to First step.

This will cost £90 and will take 5-7 business days to develop, test and support in the future.

Hi Muhamed,
you can now publish Custom fields on the first step of the booking process. There will be an option Show on First step: Yes/No for all Custom fields in their New/Edit screen.

Hi,

Could you add the option to select that the custom field should not be active on selected point of interest?

For instance you have the option to select YES/NO on shuttles and Hourly. I want to have the possibility to choose YES/NO for Point of Interest as well.

Hi Muhamed,

You can assign several Points of Interest to a custom field, then that custom field will be available to those selected POIs only.

Hi,

Yes but I don’t want it to be assigned to any point of interest.

As it is right now: If I’m having it on Address as now than it will pop up on POI anyway, even if I haven’t added the field for any POI.

I want to disable the custom field if I have added a POI on address.

Hi Muhamed,
I'm afraid we don't quite understand what are you trying to achieve here. Address search and POIs are merged and they work both for Per mile and Fixed fare service types.
You can limit Custom fields appearance for selected POIs only and disable it on Address search but not the other way around unless none of your POIs are set to Show on Address Pickup/Drop off: Yes.
Please let us know exactly which Custom field you would like to limit and how - with a few use cases, so we can advise you better.

Hi again,

Here is few use cases:

  • From Address in Malmö City (ZONE) to Kastrup (POI). For "ZONE" I would like to show the custom field named "confirm address number" but not for POI. The POI will be displayed in Address Search but i dont want the custom field to show up when i choose POI. This is since POI don't have an address number to confirm.

  • All POI are set to be shown on Address Pick Up and Drop Off. When i search for an address there is a risk to forget to add address number, this is why the custom field is added on address. BUT.... If a POI is chosen on address there is no need for confirming address number since it is a POI. So thereby i dont want the custom field to appear when i choose POI in Address Search Field


I.e.

If POI in Address Search, then the custom field "confirm address number" shall not appear.
If ordinary address added in Address Search, then the custom field "confir address number" shall show up.

The custom field is an Input Inbox and i have two of those, one for English language and one for swedish.

Hi Muhamed,
I found this ticket open for quite some time and I was wondering if it has been resolved.

Assigning Custom fields to POIs and Address search should work as you have described - Custom fields that are assigned only to Address search will not show on POIs and those assigned just on POIs will not show on Address search.
