 Hi
Seeing that i'm setting up new POI's each day we were thinking that we might be better off doing zones what advise can you give me on how to work this with all the POI's i have already put in can i simply change the poi's to zones or have a POI to Zone so i wont have to start all over again on the charges per POI to POI.

Regards

Hi Lawrence,
there is no way to merge or replace POIs with Zones as POIs are single coordinate instances and Zones create multiple coordinates. You will have to draw your Zones on the map and save them. Then you will have to replace POIs in your special routes with Zones gradually.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards.

Ok thank you for this looks like that would not take too long to sort out with all the POI's
that I have but the reason I want to change this is to avoid having to be adding anymore POI'S for different hotels or guest houses that are in the same town or when the customer can't find the accommodation they require to be dropped off at when they are looking through our front end booking form so will I need to change the front end booking form in a way that when the client is looking for a different address that we would not have listed in our POI'S that they would be able to find if zones are set up how would I set this up in the front end booking form can it be done through the settings ?

Regards

Hi Lawrence,
it is not very clear what you are asking from this long sentence but Zones work just like Address search (not POI selection through a drop down). Customer types in the address and the system compares that address to existing Zones. This is done both for Pick up and Drop off addresses. It is best if you have created all Zones you travel to in advance and then create Fixed fare routes between those Zones.
Here is a link to the online documentation regarding Zones set up and usage: https://booking.drivenot.com/en/documentation/63-zones

Hope this helps.
Kind regards.

Ok sorry about the long message so i would still have to have a fixed fare set up with the name of airport to the name of accommodation (Hotel) ? & it will not work having a zone with a airport like kerry airport and then a zoned town like Killarney town and when the customer puts in the search of a name of a hotel for that town in the zone that the booking form will find that hotel lets say going through like google maps.

Trying to avoid having to have all accommodation names listed through towns listed as fixed fares & hoping to have a town listed as a zone and then the system in front end will find that accommodation address for the client in that town.

Hi Lawrence,
If I understood you correctly then yes, Google will suggest places like hotels through Auto suggest (while user is typing) and then will compare that place with a Zone if a Zone is created.
You can test on maps.google.com for any place that you are wondering if it will come up as search result - if it comes up there then it will most likely come up in the booking form search results as we use the same Auto suggest by Google.

If you already have that place as POI then both may come up in the drop down - one will be with the icon of POI Category and the other one with the location icon by Google. The best way to find out if this is going to work for you is test it with one Zone that you know an existing POI already belongs to.

Note that you can create Fixed fare routes between a POI and a Zone not only Zone to Zone.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
