#247 – REQUEST: Ability to Book Return Trip with Different Pickup or Dropoff

 Thank you again for a great system. The New Design has been received very well by our customers.

Roughly 10% of our orders with Return Trips require a different pickup or drop-off address (mostly a different drop-off address).

An option to change the default Return Trip addresses would increase our online bookings. Today, those customers (or potential new customers) either call us to book or don't book at all because that option is unavailable.

Hi Curtis,
we understand your concern and we have been thinking for some time now to develop functionality where Return trip is completely separate order so a different Car can be assigned to it and a different Drop off address can be selected.
However, as this is a great system overhaul and requires developing multi order functionality on the same Booking and many design, programming and database structure changes, we can not confirm when this development will start.
There are more pressing issues that we are attending to, making the system both more reliable and more usable.

If Return trips is causing you troubles you may wish to disable it for the time being so your customers can book both trips separately.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion.

It's not worth disabling return trips for 10% of our Return Trip orders. The remaining 90% do return to the same addresses.

I had no expectations of immediate work. I knew of and understood the complexities involved with this change. I just wanted to add this to your queue.
